Start planning now for New Brunswick Celtic Awareness Week!!
April 26 - May 02, 2020
In 2017, "in celebration of New Brunswick's rich Celtic heritage", Celtic groups across the province were encouraged to organize events over a one week period in the spring, announcing it as "Celtic Awareness Week:.
This was formalized by the New Brunswick Government when the Minister responsible for Celtic Affairs announced, at a public function held at the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick on April 30, 2018, that the first full week that includes May 1st each year will be designated 'Celtic Awareness Week' in New Brunswick.
With more than one-third of New Brunswick's anglophone & francophone population claiming a Celtic ancestral connection, this is a time to honour that connection and the contribution our ancestors made to the very fabric of this province. So, whether you are an individual, a family, a business, a municipality, school or arts/heritage organization, plan now to organize or to take part in events in your area. If you have an idea for an event, gather like-minded indivduals to make it happen and send us an email with the details as far in advance as possible. We will post it on all of our event pages and Facebook pages and provide advice if needed.
